Jym Kruse visits Holling Heights

How did you become a storyteller?

I have always liked to share stories, now I am a "storyteller."

Books are better than a Magic Pot!
I like to take life experiences and put them into stories to make them more interesting and real.

How do you memorize stories?
I don't memorize them. I find an old folktale, read it, get the story in my head, then I tell the story.
It's never exactly the same words, but it is the same story.
Do you make up these stories as you tell them?

The stories aren't made up as I go along. I have to edit and rewrite to get good stories. The stories do change through time.

How old are you?

19,656 days old

Do you like scary stories?

I like scary stories that aren't too scary.

Do you like to do what you do?

Yes, I'm looking at you and you are very entertaining!

Do you have to keep working to get better?

Yes, of course! You always have to practice things to get better.

How long have you been a storyteller?

For over 20 years.

Thank you for coming to Holling,

Thank you to a student in Mr. Noble's class for providing me with the pictures!
