• Family Day at Barnes & Noble - December 5, 2009
While you take care of some of your holiday shopping, you can support Morton's PTO! Morton students will be featured throughout the day: reading, singing, playing instruments, displaying art, and more. You won't want to miss this event!

• Winter Dinner/Reading Night- January 28, 2010
Enjoy a meal provided by PTO, and then listen to great stories (new and old) being read aloud by Morton staff members.

• Sock Hop- May 7, 2010
Rock around the clock at the 2nd Annual Sock Hop! This event gives students and their families a chance to dance the night away at an old-fashioned sock hop.

• Artist in the Classroom
Wendy Summers, our "Artist in the Classroom," visits each classroom once each quarter during the school year to conduct art lessons with our students.

• Author/Storyteller Visit
Each year, Morton students are provided the opportunity to meet and visit with a published author or accomplished storyteller. The visiting authors/storytellers give our students a first-hand look into their unique experiences of creating and sharing literature.

• Boxtops for Education & Campbells Soup Labels
The PTO collects Boxtops for Education and Campbells Soup labels to earn extra money for our school. Clip and save all year long!

“Friday Folders” are the link for communication between school and home. PTO volunteers are responsible for filling those folders, usually on Friday mornings.

• Teacher Appreciation
PTO organizes event(s) throughout the school year to let the teachers/staff at Morton know how much they are appreciated. These can be breakfasts, lunches or snacks and/or small gifts. PTO is also responsible for the organization and delivery of snacks, lunches, and dinners for Morton staff during Parent-Teacher Conferences, in the months of October and February.

The Volunteer Database is a listing of all parents who have offered to volunteer for the various events and activities planned throughout the school year.

• Yearbook
PTO is responsible for the overall production and distribution of the Morton annual yearbook. Work begins at the start of the school year to ensure photos are being
taken of all major school functions and club organizations.
Mid-year, the committee begins the design layout process of the book, for submission to the vendor in early spring. Yearbooks are distributed in May.
