GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT IB GRADING:

How will I be graded in class?

We will use the following IB rubrics continually in class for assessments and to familiarize you with what is expected on the actual IB exam.
IB Oral Rubric | IB Essay Rubric | Scale used for class

What about the "real" IB exam?

October, November, January: Internal Assessment - Group Oral (15%)

*The highest grade of 3 group orals will be submitted to IB, subject to mediation.

February 23, 2010: Internal Assessment - Individual Oral (15%)

This grade will be submitted to IB, subject to mediation. Do NOT miss this date for any reason - mark it on your calendar right now..

May 19, 2010: External Assessment - (70%)

The written portion of the IB Spanish exam consists of text-handling exercises, a small essay (~100 words)based on a reading, and a longer essay (~250 words) on a selected topic. There is no listening or speaking. It will be completed off campus, assessed by IB directly.
