Team record
reflects motto ,
. he Sophomore football team proved their
T success at least record wise . They finished the
season with a proud feeling of having won our
first football game. Their season ended with an 8-1
record.
"The way all the guys worked together and
never, never gave up (our motto) and the way the
coaches helped us learn our assignments on the field
was what made us a successful team," boasted Mike
Bigge.
The teams only loss was to Omaha North by
seven points.
"I think we should have won that game. The
reason we didn't was because the team wasn't fired
up. We thought we couldn't lose so we didn't play
to our potential," explains Bigge. ..-.
"In a game against Abe Lynx, there was a little
skirmish when one player was hit after the whistle and
our player held himself back," commented Coach
Bergmeier.
This was Coach Bergmeier's first year of
coaching. "I can't compare this year to others, but
I hope the ones to come are as enjoyable and
successful," summarized Bergmeier.
After an Incomplete play, Dave
Fields and an opposing player get
up.
