Varsity -
Close to
State
W e were up to number three in the
state at one time this year and
missed playoffs by only .2 of a point.
We were as good as many who made the
playoffs," stated Coach Fred Petito.
The Varsity football team came close to
going to state when they won the Omaha
Northwest game in double overtime. The
score of 27 to 20 gave Millard North the third
place spot in the state. Senior Chuck Geiger
commented that "everyone outplayed them-
selves that game."
The team ended the year at 6 and 3. They
were very close to going to the playoffs and
were disappointed that they missed it by such
a close margin. "Everyone did so good
throughout the season. It was a big letdown
at the end of the year not to have made it,"
said senior ..Pat Marchese.
Coach Petito felt that it was still a good
season. "The kids did a good job and I'm
really proud," commented Petito.
Running towards the goal line is senior Todd Talerico.
