Area Stores
Offer Choice
T aking time out from academics, athletics,
and spirit, students went out to eat, shop,
and get their senior pictures taken at just
the right places. Considering the choices in
the Millard area, finding a terrific store, restau-
rant, or a photography studio was not difficult.
The surrounding area provided students
with restaurants like Romeo's. If they felt like
staying at home though. all they needed to do
was stop off at HyVee and pick up something
quick and easy to make.
In addition a variety of services and shops
were available to help sharpen different skills.
Rockbrook Camera was not far off for those who
spent their time taking pictures or to get novices
involved in the field of photography.
People could even go to driving school to pre-
pare for the driver's test.
Ken 's Flowers provided students with a
quality selection of flowers for Homecoming,
prom, or graduation. If all students needed
was a pack of notebook paper or a candy snack
to help them make it through a long night of
studying for finals. Shopko was nearby with rea-
sonable prices.
Juniors and seniors comparison shopped for
photographers by looking at ads from different
studios or looking at their friends pictures.
With the number of professional photographers
around, however, they had their work cut out for
them.
A competitive business spirit could be
found closer to home, too. Groups like FBLA,
DECA . and the journalism department worked
on putting out quality products and projects all
through the year.
Students could not have been Number One
on their own though. They needed to join with
businesses that offered the best buys and stood
out in their own right. Together both groups
accomplished the task of Hanging the Competi-
tion out to Dry. IN
