round every corner and in every hall-
way, fashions from past eras invaded
                  the school. Sophomore Tracy Rob-
I inson said, "It was like walking back in time."
    i
From the forties and fifties came long
slim skirts with billowy blouses, and baggy
I : pants with suspenders. From the fifties one
could see bobby sock$, rolled pants, jean jack-
I ets, and full skirts. The school was filled with
I girls adorning hoop earrings and mini skirts,
i popular items of the sixties.
I All of these things were popular through-
I out the year, either as actual remnants from
i times past or as modern versions in new fab-
I rics and updated styles. The classic loafer
    i
was a perfect example. Although the origi-
l nal brown leather style was still popular, loaf-
ers could be found in almost any color. Girls
were seen in a slimmer style of loafer that was
II available in every color from black and brown
          to silver and gold.
                             Freshman Shawnda Kill-
I ham said that her loafers "were the most com-
          fortable shoes I owned."
              "Comfortable" was the way Freshman
I April Messer described the popular mini-
' I skirts. "Mini skirts were probably the most
I comfortable pieces of clothing I owned. I
wore them all the time." Junior Brad Under-
wood preferred the forties look since he " lik -
ed the baggy pants and suspenders best be-
cause they held your pants up-they were
practical." Sophomore Amy Walsh also liked
the forties for the "long and skinny skirts be-
cause they tended to give a sophisticated
          look."
"As long as people wore them because
they liked it and not just to be trendy it was
okay," said Sophomore Debby Bosse of recur-
ring fashions. Senior Lori Kilstrom thought
that the fun part of fashions from the past was
"looking through your mom's stuff and being
able to wear it without feeling funny."
Whatever the reason, fashion from days Fir
