ach day had only 24 hours . but
for some that was not enough. Even
though some students only had to wor-
ry about homework, many had that
              plus practices, extracurricular activi-
              ties, or work.
Practices either after school or in
the evening took up time and students
had to find ways to budget that time.
              " It's hard when you're practicing two
hours a day to come home and do your
homework," said \Junior Kristy Jessen .
Junior Phil Eberlein thought it was impor-
tant " to have a set schedule" in order
to get everything done. However, Ju-
nior Kim Ostronic said, "It depended on
what kind of practice and how much
              homework I had."
" Sometimes I felt I had to work
harder on my homework since I had so
many things to do," said Junior Nansi
Peterson. M@y students felt this same
way. Jessen' 1 said, "I didn't have that
much time so it made me get things
done faster." These students not only
showed dedication but proved to be
              responsible.
                  Responsibility was important for
anyone who had a job, and many stu-
dents did. The number of hours de-
pended on the job and the person, but
either way jobs took up students' free
time. " When it got to be too much,"
said Senior Kari Hutson. "I put up with it,
thought about the money, and hoped
              next week would be better."
Did students have to give up any-
thing? While most students agreed that If there was not time the night before, students
they did not have much time to them- usually used free hours to get assi gnments and
selves, some felt they did. Ostronic. papers done. Hurrying to get her paper done for

was important to have been excited
about the sport. That was what made
              the difference for her.
Along with giving up time for them-
selves, students gave up time with
friends. Even though this was true. it
