Summer consisted of approxi-
mately 80 days, which left students little •
. time to do everything they had plarmed.
: with places to go, people to see, and
. things to do, students found themselves
• back in school within a blink of an eye .

• However, with the limited time, students
• did manage to create some summer
. memones.
• Vacations had always been the
: primary summer event and thjs past
• summer was no exception. Junior
: Allison Bentl ey spent hers visiting
• friends in Virginia and Delaware, where
: her best memory was seeing the ocean
• for the first time .
• While some students were visit-

• ing family and friends, Senior Kar a •

• with her church volunteer group. She
: spent her time helping in a park where
• meals were served to the homeless.
: However, there were still those who fan-
• tasized about what they could have done
: if summer had been longer.
-• If summer break was longer
: what would be the one one thing you
. would have done that you didn't? Jun-
: ior Lori Arnold said, "I would ·have gone
. to the beach with my family and friends."
: Gilbreath said, "I would have spent more
. timesittingunder the clouds and dream-
• ing." And Bentley said, "I would have
•
• found more time to relax."
• Even without the help of •
•
• inclimate weather, summers were short
• enough. Arnold said that with all of the
•
• rain she ended up just bumming around
• and relaxing. The summer forced some
: students to learn how to manage their
•time before they were back in the class-
: room again. Getting the most out of the
• summer became very crucial.
