Making the jump to high school from
middle school was not hard for freshman
Chris Garvey, but there were many
differences that greeted him on his first
day. The size of the building, and the
number of people were changes for
Garvey. "Longer passing periods allow for
me to socialize during the school days."
Academics were easier for him, but his
teachers expected more effort. Extra-
curricular activities are more important
here, he said, and they are much more
exciting. "In high school there is much
more pride. The whole school comes
together to show their school spirit." Over
all, "High school is much better than
middle school," he said
