SPORTS
IN BOUNDS
Before winning a match or claiming victory in a game .
student athletes first had to overcome boundaries that were
put in front of them. The challenges faced were both physical
and mental.
Senior Came ron Reinhard said physical pressures
were taken very seriously in wrestling .
"Keeping your body in good shape is tough to do in
wrestling, especially with losing weight and the physical
exertion required for wrestling. You must change your diet
and treat all injuries ," Reinhard said.
Pressure to have a successful season came in all sports .
but pressure ran high on teams that were not ranked as high
as expected.
"In gymnastics this year. we were not favored to win
state . but we worked really hard to block out everything and
came back to win the last state title ever in high school gym-
nastics." seniorJill lrwinsaid.
New sports uncovered new boundaries to surpass.
"Since the bowling team just started . and we just had
our first tournament. the pressure to do well is really there .
All I do is just say to myself. the coaches have helped . but I
can do this ," senior Rebecca Kuller said.
Opinions on challenges were usually similar for ath-
letes . "You always need to keep your head high and believe
in what you can do and what your team can accomplish . no
matter what anyone says ," junior Kerry Farrell said.
