Being a part of
Volunteers in Action (VIA)
and Family, Career,
Community Leaders of
America (FCCLA) gave
students an opportunity to
reach out and contribute to
their community.
"Our main goal in VIA is
to locate organizations
around the community that
are in need of volunteer
work. Then we set up
groups to help out at these
organizations," junior
Anastasia Lasley said.
The blood drive was the
major project of the students
in VIA. Their mission was
to get as many of their peers efforts. It was an easy way
to participate as possible.
"I tried to donate my
blood because it's for a
good cause and there are so
many benefits from it, but I
wasn't eligable because
guess I didn't weigh
enough, and I also kind of
almost fainted when they
pricked my finger. So I
