Many sweaty hours were spent working on fundamentals, shooting and running through plays. The hard
work and preparation paid off with a combined winning record of 24-15 for the girls JV and varsity basket-
ball teams. Although practices everyday were intense and full of rigorous drills to hone the skills of all the
athletes on the team, they were still woven with moments of humor and fun.
Senior Kylee Jonsson agreed, "(Practices were) fun! We learned a lot and it was hard at times, but there
were always times when everyone would laugh and have fun. "
With the leadership of four seniors, the varsity team meshed well together and friendships were strength-
                   ened.
Junior Hannah Smith said, "We worked hard to pump each other up."
As a result of the varsity season, each player grew more as a person and learned how to better overcome
any obstacles that came in the way of success.
The JV team enjoyed a successful season following the leadership of the older girls, many of whom had
played together for three years. As a result, the great chemistry was evident all season long. A favorite part
of the season for all the girls was carb dinners.
Sophomore Margaret Schroeder said that she "loved all the inside jokes, like the banana song and Stew-
art, that we made at carb dinners."
The JV girls finished with a winning season of 17-2, losing only to one team all season. The success was
mainly accredited to the time the team spent together bonding and learning to trust each other more and
                    more.
Every girl learned something important this season about basketball, life and friendship. Each girl , var-
sity and JV, was able to look back on the season and would never forget all of the good times had.
