W hether it was an intern ship across the world or
just a short famil y vacation, students found that
gettin g out of town helped to make the summer exciting
and unfor gettabl e.
"I will never forget my intern ship in China. I stayed
on campus at the Peking University and researched plant
genetics. I know, it sounds totally boring, but li ving in
China for the summer and experi encin g the culture was
definitely one of the best experi ences of my life," senior
Deepa Joshi said.
Traveling to foreign countries did help students to un-
derstand other cultures, but being away from home did
propose some challenges.
"On my trip to Germany I stayed with different fami-
lies almost every night. It was reall y fun but there was
a big communicati on barrier. It was tough to find ways
to understand each other, so I was pretty glad to come
home," sophomore Priya Srivats said .
Despite challenges, traveling left students with last-
ing memori es and interesting stori es to tell when arri v-
ing back at school.
