The group performed a ballad call d 'Caner IG Ang I' y M rltn McBrrde,
which depicted a girl whose parents obus d her. Show choir groups ore expected
to truly put on a show , and this was no exception. The performers transformed from
the usual bubbly ensemble into a sullen, serious group of singers.
Beyond the clockwork of the donee routine and song , the show has significance
that is unique to each performer.
Junior Allie Jones took the ballad as an opportunity to reflect on her own life.
"I'm grateful for the life I have because I've never had to experience abuse like
the girl in the performance I think it's good to do performances like 'Concrete
Angel' every once in a while, to remind people that life isn't always easy. It's an
opportunity to encourage the audience to have hope and overcome the obstacles
they face," Jones said
Junior Garrett Sacco is new to showchoir He has spent the last two years be-
hind the scenes. Sacco said he definitely mode the right decision to join the group.
Although a newcomer to the group, Sacco was warmly welcomed and equally
affected by the ballad
'I think it's a good song for us to perform because it's about a topic that isn't
really touched on by other groups. What I like about it is that it's a song about sad-
ness and dismay - not only that but also how it's an opportunity to open our eyes to
the feelings people hide and lies that people don't know about," Sacco said

hard work, although hidden from others. shines through when the group performs
