College Bound
H
ey, what college are you going to
when you get out of here?"
Ask about any senior and they'll tell
you that this is the question they're asked
the most.
Think about it, out of 3,CXX> colleges in
the United States, how could anyone choose
today! Do you go through a list of college
names, close your eyes, and blindly point to
one?
Practical advise was offered to students
in the Counseling Center by 100 college
representatives. In addition to this, a
pamphlet called the Career and College
Planning Guide was put out by the counselors
for the first time to help make faster
graduation choices.
Seniors went to these programs for
many reasons. Some went to check out
certain areas of a colleges training facilities.
Others attended them to make a decision on
a number of colleges that they couldn't
choose from.
Filli ng in Seniors Kevin Plautz and Kim Mi lroy about a Senior Dean Oltmanns stated, "I hadn't
college is the representative from Simpson College.
decided if I wanted to go to Milford until I
went and found out about their industrial
trades program, and then I really made up
my mind to go there."
Summing up general reactions to the
program, Senior Paul Baker couldn't decide
among three colleges, so he attended the
Sue Merkel college representatives. Paul said, "The
Walter B. Mertz Ill
Kim Meyer program is very beneficial because it helped
me to decide on a college. It 's better to talk
to a representative than to read a catalogue."
