Looking toward the future
F
reshmen and Sophomore football squads both came up with a good season this year.
"They possibly foreshadowed a very competitive Mustang team in the years to come.",
said Coach Rick Baker.
Sophomores compiled an impressive record of 8-1. This was quite a contrast to their
previous year's record of 2-6. "The key to this year's success was that we wanted to win
more, and we worked more as a team", commented sophomore Tracy Wright.
Sophomore Tim Ingram also said that "We were in the weight room much more this
year." In spite of their loss to Westside in their final game, the sophomores felt that they
had a good season and look forward to another one next year.
Freshmen also had a good season although it was not apparent in their 4-4 record.
Coach Dave lee said, "The freshmen season was a time when the players were not sure
of themselves and this could have accounted for their record."
"Randy McNeel said, "I felt that we had a lot of potential and we could have done
better, but I still think we had a good season." Possibly, like this years sophomores, they
too will gain confidence in themselves and become a very good team.
