ith a little creativity and a lot of
spunk, it was easy for students to
night. entertain themselves morning to
Since entertainment was less desirable
in the mornings, it was also not found as
much. Usually the typical student barely had
open eyes let alone functioning body and
brain parts. School didn't leave much time for
afternoon delight except at lunch when
seniors went to Burger King, juniors suffered
at the cafeteria, and sophomores and
freshmen "hung out".
But when the three o'clock bell rang,
watch out becau~e that signaled freedom and
freedom meant fun!
Nighttime entertainment depended on
two things: the availability of money and the
time of year.
Movies, eating and skating were some
forms that took money. Some of the bigger
movie hits were "Fast Times At Ridgemont
High", "48 Hours" and "E.T".
Skating gained in popularity with the
opening of the new skating rink on 132nd
Street, but eating still remained the most
popular pasttime.
Burger King, Godfathers. Valentinos.
little Kings and McDonalds were just a few
of the places chosen from.

Spectrum is one of the leading groups at MN. Sophomore
Mike Dowdy and Sean Swanson are part of that group
