etween all of the pep rallies, gab
sessions during passing periods
and rowdiness, there was still
time for classes.
The main purpose of school was to
educate so teachers kept the students
interested in a variety of ways. Some
students were asked to bring towels and
their favorite childrens book for IBS class
while others were bringing pictures to
draw in art and maybe their little sister
for child development class.
Besides the required courses, such
as Comp II and Development of America,
some classes were chosen by students
interested in that class room structure.
Photography class were out snapping
pictures for their assignment and
marketing and merchandising class went
on a field trip to the Old Market.
Some classes were more flexible.
Consumers math students were only
required to be in class for study time and
test and were rewarded for a good grade
by giving them the next day off.
Research methods only meet once a
-week to go over the material they
gathered for their papers.
The teachers made the classes more
fun by telling stories about the schools
they went to, and keeping away from the
same old routine.
