Creativity
Challenged
hat has poems and stories,
W laughs, cries, and much much
more?
No, it's not a play or movie, but a
magazine, the Literary Magazine.
The Literary Magazine consisted of
creative works from students in the school.
Students wrote their poems and stories and
drew their artwork and submitted them to
the seven members on the board.
The board read each work and rated it.
Those contributions ~th the highest
ratings were published. Sometimes, how-
ever, lower rated ones were put in anyway.
Since we didn't have enough response
this year, we suffered from a lack of poems.
Although many were excellent, we were
forced to use some works that were good
instead of great." commented Board
member Sophomore Laura Collier.
Once the works were selected each was
typed and proofready by the Board.
All this sounds simple, but it isn't. Not
enough people sent their literacy contribu-
tions in so the staff had to find ways to
advertise. · •
"We hung posters and signs and talked
to people, but we still didn't get enough
response," said Frosh Debbie Wingert.
The board members agreed, however,
that working on the Literary Magazine
together was a fun and educational
experience.
