A Winner

David Buckley about intramural
basketball and volleyball.
Part of that fun was selecting a team
name and living the part. The "Sweeties",
one of the basketball teams, wore pink
shirts with their nicknames and phone
numbers on the back for a joke according
to Senior Brad Hansen. They also led the
teams in wins. Following closely behind
were the Flabeetz.
The 18 basketball teams consisted of
140 boys, while the eight coed volleyball
teams were made up of 40 students. OFF
and Zulu Holiday were victors in volleyball.
During the first week of April, coed
softball teams were organized - a first for
MN. Results were too late for yearbook
deadlines.
As far as continuing intramural
competition, Buckley sees the program
growing next year since there was so much
enthusiasm and participation this year
despite Sunday practices and games.
