industrial arts classes.
The industrial arts department proved
beneficial and rewarding to many students
because of these projects.
Due to the types of classes offered,
students who took them were able to
prosper greatly. Not only were they able to
learn the techniques and skills necessary to
use their hands and the machines well, but
they received special instruction on their
various, individualized projects.
Some of the classes offered were
Metals, Welding, Mechanical Drawing,
Woods, Electricity, and Architectural
Drafting. There was also a Heating and Air
Conditioning class offered at Boys Town for
interested students. Senior Joe McEvoy
said, "I am planning on going into
heating/air conditioning as a career, so the
Boys Town class has really helped me."
For those students who wished to enter
any of their projects in competition, there
was an annual Industrial Arts Fair held,
sponsored by Kearney.
The art classes offered students the
chance to experiment and find out what
they might want to do later on in life.
Women can do anything they want to, as Christy Industrial Arts teacher, Mr. Baker, helps Sophomore
