Runners
Work Hard
ven though the cross country team
E Mike
was inexperienced, Coach
Neeman felt that this year's team was
the hardest working.
He felt that they were the hardest
working team because they worked out
twice a day. They sacrificed sleep by
attending morning workouts. " We worked
hard together as a team and improved a
lot throughout the season. We had a really
good and fun season, mainly because we
were so close, " said Sen ior Christie
Trussell.
Outstanding runners on the boys' team
were Senior Rich Schmidt and Sophomore
Mark Walters, while Junior Amy Pohlman
and Sophomore Lara Trout were the
outstanding girl runners . Voted most
improved by the team were Sophomore
Scott Paintin and Junior Marleigh Duysen .
" It was a good time! I'm really glad that
I went out for it. EveryQ_ody was really
supportive of everyone else ," said Senior
Marlene Higgs .
Neeman looks ahead to next year and
wants to get younger kids in the program
and have them stay in the program and
develop their strength and stamina . ''I've
seen improvement from those runners that
ran last year. Their times have dropped a
minute or two off their times this year, "
said Neeman .
