                                                                                        oth  the  boys  and  girls  had  an

                                                                                        impressive  year.  Many  records  were
                                                                                        broken  and  rebroken.
                                                                                       The  team's  dual  record  was  8-0.  For
                                                                                   the  boys,  this  season  was  the  first  time
                                                                                   they had  beaten  Millard  South.  "The  girls
                                                                                   won their  duals  pretty easily  because  of
                                                                                   their talent," said  Sophomore Kevin  Kearns .
                                                                                       Boys  and  girls  both placed third at the
                                                                                   Metro  Championships.  At State  the  boys
                                                                                   placed  seventh,  while the  girls  took sixth
                                                                                   place.  Westside's  dynasty again  took first
                                                                                   place  in  both  Boys  and  Girls  State
                                                                                   Championships .
                                                                                       Most members  of the  teams  felt that
                                                                                   Westside  and  Lincoln  Southeast  were their
                                                                                   toughest  competitors.  "Burke  was  also  a
                                                                                   heavy  favorite,  mostly  because  of  top
                                                                                   individual  performances," said  Kearns.
                                                                                       Performance  was  hard  to  maintain
                                                                                   sometimes.  "We had  much  illness.  We  all
                                                                                   had  colds  and  coughs,"  said  Sophomore
                                                                                   Tonia  Quick.
                                                                                       Quick  also  said,  "We  had  to  be
                                                                                   mentally ready. We  had  to go into the meet
                                                                                   with a  positive attitude to do well."
                                                                                       Attitudes and  time  paid  off at  State.
