teams were inexperienced this year,
they both look forward to next year.
With a dual record of 7-2, the girls' team
qualified for State with a second place at
Districts. Qualifying for State finals were
Juniors Sue Laverman in the balance beam
and the floor exercise and Freshman Cindy
Pritchard in vaulting. The girls' team was
plagued by injuries throughout the season
according to Coach Ric Heineman. "We
never did get completely healthy," said
Heineman. "Next year we could be
potential state champions if we stay
healthy."
With a lack of returning lettermen, both
teams were composed mainly of freshman.
"This team was a rebuilding season in the
boys' team," said Heineman. At Districts,
the boys' team received third place which
did not qualify them for State. However,
they did qualify four individuals. These
were Seniors Ken Kirchner, Andy Robinson,
and John Bennett and Junior Blake Kuklin .
"We improved our score throughout the
season from 90 to 120," said Heineman,
"Our best meet was the T.J . Invitational
where we received second place."
Outstanding team members included
Senior Andy Robinson by team leadership
and Senior Ken Kirchner by scoring the
