Development of America, social
studies courses helped students gain
an understanding of American politics
during the election year.
Two US Senate candidates, Hal Daub,
the incumbent and Tom Cavanaugh came
into Civics classes to talk about politics with
seniors .
Students were able to voice their
political ideas in Civics and Consumerism .
Since '84 was an election year, some
seniors were able to vote.
" I enjoyed voting because it let me
have my say in the future of our nation. We
don't need any more Democrats in office."
said Senior Tim lngrim .
Some courses, such as World Religions
and World Affairs, dealt with current
events and history. They taught students
about cultures and the way people lived
in foreign countries, as well as the US.
Said Junior April Wbitney, " It was
really interesting to learn about the
religions, customs, and beliefs of others.
We had several guest speakers and I've

World Religions class had several guest speakers .
This Budhist shared his beliefs with the class and
showed them his ways of meditation.
