many students that feelin ' good look
this year, and feeling good about
oneself was what fashion was all about.
The preppy look, which had been the
long dominating style of dress for students,
wasn 't as popular as it had been in the
past. Most students turned from the more
preppy look to styles that were more loose
fitting as well as more comfortable.
The past had played an important role
in this change with the return of mini skirts
and crop pants from the SO's and 60's.
Oversized sweaters and baggy pants were
also a main part of the comfortable look.
As always, jeans were a main part of
most students' wardrobes, although other
types of pants were seen around school.
The leather-look and camouflage style
pants were worn by both male and female
students.
The top-20 singer Madonna had a lot
of influence on girls' fashion as well. The
Madonna look was more obvious in the
9-10 building. Lace gloves, large hair bows,
and a multitude of bracelets and chains
were some things inspired by that look.
Dressing to be different was definitely
the major goal of some students. Most
students were surprised to see the guy Comfort was the most important thing in some
next to them with a purple streak in his hair students' minds. Sophomore Bernie Mahoney goes for
