njuries were the main fear of Gymnastics
Coach Ric Heineman. However, his worries
were eased by a 5-4 girls team, a 4-4 boys
team, and a state champion.
The girls also made showings of second place
at the Millard Invite and first at Districts.
"Everybody put forth a good, strong team
effort," said Sophomore Christy Flugum.
In boys action, highlights were the T.J. Invite
(3rd) and Districts (4th). _
At State, Flugum led the girls to a fourth
place finish with an All-Around title. In addition,
Flugum took championships in the floor exercise
and the uneven bars.
Sophomore Cindy Pritchard and Junior
Bridget Lammers also competed at State and
placed in the top ten in events.
Senior Blake Kuklin placed fifth in the vault
for the boys, who did not qualify for State as a
team. Other individual competitors were Sopho-
more Jeff Springer and Freshman Phil Eberlein.
