State, Girls
Just Miss
J
unior Lara Trout and the whole boys' Cross
Country T earn qualified for State with a
third place at Districts. The girls' team just
missed with a fourth place finish at Districts.
One member of the boys' team, Junior Mark
Walters, finished in the top fourteenth at State
with a time of 16:52. He was followed by
Freshman Andy Brueckner. The team had an
overall standing of tenth at State.
Walters, with Junior Mark Fields and Senior
Brian Teller, ran away with first, second and third
place finishes respectively against Bellevue East
and Benson. The girls' managed a second place
finish from Trout and a fourth place by Senior
Amy Pohlman.
At the Millard North Invitational, Trout
achieved her lowest time of 16:43. The boys
finished in second place with strong placings by
Walters, Teller, and Brueckner.
The boys claimed a fifth place at the Metro
Tournament while the girls only placed ninth.
The girls' team ended the season with three
freshmen in the top fiv e. Neemann believes the
girls ran "very well. "

Three freshmen, by the end of the season, were in the top
five of the girls' team. Freshmen Kerry Asher and Kristy
Jessen set a pace during a race at the Millard North
