Perfection
Requires
Practice
Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do .. . These were the
D
oundation steps to perfecting a song. And
perfecting songs took time. A lot of time
is what any student in Vocal Music would say.
This was especially true for Swing Choir
students because they spent much time before
and after school memorizing their songs and
practicing their dance steps.
When concert time came around they were
more than ready. As of December they had
performed at The State Fair, the UMW group at
Faith Westwood, the Blumkin Home, a UP
Auxiliary luncheon, and Remington Heights.
These audiences and many more had the
opportunity to enjoy this group of 24 students
under the direction of Cindy Pace.
Excellence came out in other ways as well .
There were twelve Concert Choir students who
made the All-State Choir. Qualifiers performed
at Fremont High School. Those participating were
Seniors Kathy Kautz, Beth Schaefer, Cindy
Schultz, Beth Wingert, Stephani Franzen, and
Kris Howard and Juniors LaDonna Hieb, Karen
Lalley, Amy Erlbacher, Ron Leach, Jeff Brown
and Kristi Larson. Alternates were Seniors Amy
Womack and Heather Yepma and Junior Dan
Lestrud.
Even though All-Staters took much of the glory
through their hard work, Concert, Mixed and
Treble Choirs contributed to the high quality of
the department by their daily concentrated
practices in preparation for their seven concerts.
