                                                                                           rack  season culminated with  four  team
                                                                                     T     members competing in seven events at the
                                                                                           State Tournament: Seniors Greg Thielen,
                                                                                     Shawn Noble, John Gerber, and Junior Rob  Ford.
                                                                                         Although the team only  finished  eleventh at
                                                                                     State, Coach Chevalier said, "I would like to think
                                                                                     of  the season as successful, and I think  it  was."
                                                                                         He had hoped the team would  finish  in  the
                                                                                     top five,  but he attributes tough district competi-
                                                                                     tion  for  the team's placing. "Senior Craig Casey
                                                                                     would have qualified for State in  any other district
                                                                                     with  his  time. Our two mile  relay was the seventh
                                                                                     fastest in  the state and didn't qualify,"  added
                                                                                     Chevalier. Fourteen people placed at Districts in
                                                                                     seventeen events.
                                                                                         The team did  just as well  at Metro, finishing
                                                                                     third closely  behind Omaha Burke and Central.
                                                                                     The only  dual they lost was to Burke. Sixth place
                                                                                     was the least the team finished  all  season.
                                                                                         Burke,  Central,  and  Fremont  were  the
                                                                                     toughest the team had to  go  up  against.  Noble
                                                                                  _  explained,  "They had depth.  They had two  or
                                                                                     three guys that placed in  each event."
                                                                                         The freshmen track team also had the depth
                                                                                     that Noble talked about. Freshman Adam Hodges
                                                                                     said, "Everybody performed well  in  their event.
                                                                                     Through the season we  gainsd depth." The team
                                                                                     had a successful season with  a 4-3  record and a
                                                                                     third  place in  the Conference Meet.  They also
