Due  to much practice. hard work. dedi-
                                        cation. and team development. the boys·
                                        varstiy  cheerleaders  beat  49  other
                                        schools to win the national championship
                                        in  the non-stunt division.  All  team  mem-
                                        bers won gold medals and  the team was
                                        presented with a trophy. Individual win-
                                        ners  included Junior Vanessa  Vogeltanz
                                        who won aS  1  000 scholarship to Hawaii
                                        Pacific  College.  Senior Anne  Larson who
                                        performed in  the  Hula  Bowl.  Junior
                                        Mindy Richter  who was an individual gold
                                        medalist and won the opportunity to ap-
          C~ntrolling  the  scoreboard  at  the  JV   pear  at  the  NCAA  Final  Four  all -star
          Boys·  Basketball game against Bellevue   game.  Senior  Denise  Eickholt who won
          Eas  are math teacher Doug Thomas and   a si lver medal. and Juni or Krista  Pendley
          ph_y 1cal   education   teacher   Vicky   who won a bronze medal. Eickholt and
          Marquardt. while English  teacher Terry  Pendley  are  also  eligible  to  perform at
          Thielen  watches  the  game  from  the   nex t  year's  Hula  Bowl.  Juni ors  Colette
          stands.  Faculty  involvement in  student  Furst.  Krista  Pendley.  and  Senior Anne
          activities helped  to develop a  stronger  Larson rehearse the moves that brought
