Remember the days when after
. school meant lounging around the house,
• talking on the phone, becoming engrossed in
: oprah, and stuffing your face with chips?
• Those lazy days were no longer, since there
: were pl aces to go, people to see, and things to
. do.
: Senior Stacy Molacek kept busy year
. round with athletics. Depending upon the
: season, she was up at school for either cross
. country, track, or winter conditioning. Al-
• though she had sports after school, her actual
•
• sc hool day ended after fifth hour. "I got to go
• home and eat before coming back to school,"
•
• Molacek said. Many seniors took advantage
• of open campus to end their school day early .
•
• "I got off after fourth ho ur and went home to
• eat before working, running errands, or work-
: ing out," said Senior Danielle Whorlow.
• Non-seniors did not have the oppor-
: tunity to leave early. This meant that there
• were many things to get accomplished in a
: short amount of time. "I had to go straight to
• work everyday after school," said Sopho-
: rngre Erin Huffman.
• Working was not the only thing that
: kept people from simply being abl~ to go
• home and relax after an exhausting school
: day. "I always had something to do. If I
• didn 't have dance, voice lessons, or my youth
: group, I would have to go somewhere like the
• dentist," said Sophomore J ayme Tichauer.
: While waiting rooms were not the fa-
• vorite place to spend an afternoon, many did
: get the chance to take advantage of their after •
• school hours in a pleasurable way. "I almost
: always went up to the community center to
. work out, play basketball, or hang out with
• my friends," Freshman J ennifer Kay said .
• It's true. Oprah(Winfrey),

• Phi i(Donahue), and Maurey(Povich) did bring

• up quite interesting and amusing topics, but
• there were many more pressing issues to
