Creative thinking and styles were overlooked by some, while other students
took the idea of originality to the extreme.
"I love to get down and break dance to clear my head," sophomore DJ
Coleman said. "My friends enjoy watching, and I especially like the attention."
Whether it was through the school band or a band outside of school, music
was another way students demonstrated originality.
"I play the guitar for my band, Donkey Punch. Music for me is therapeutic.
There is nothing like being on stage playing the music that the band and I have
written," senior Ryan McKain said.
Writers used their imaginations to write stories or poems, or to draw
cartoons. These could be published in the school's literary magazine and
newspaper.
"It is really cool to see my designs carried through in newspaper designs
knowing that students and staff will see them every month," editor-in-chief
junior Katie Stearns said. "Being in charge of the newspaper staff allows me to
use my creativity in more ways than one."
Those who chose to go above and beyond in their creativity "had fun, learned
something, and even made people laugh," junior Kristen Hettinger said. "That's
what being creative is all about."
