"Respectful," "well-behaved," "exciting," and "pretty cool" were words
used by the support staff to describe both their experiences at school and the
students they came in contact with daily.
Cook Eileen Bullard, who worked at the Hole in the Wall, said the
students were very nice and the majority of them were well-behaved. The
snack shop was always busy, which is why Bullard loved her job. She al so
said she was very proud to work with the other cooks.
Custodian James Kness was on a list as a substitute months before he was
able to be considered for his custodian position. Kness had a year under his
belt, and he said that although it was difficult at times, he was grateful for hi s
job. Every day he looked forward to helping out any way he could.
Hall monitor, Les Craig, said that he enjoyed the interaction he had with
students, specifically the athletes because he is a fonner athlete. Craig played
high school football and basketball and continued to play basketball in
college. He also said the school's environment was very conducive to
learning.
For the future of the school, Craig hopes the curriculum is diverse and
will give students a world-wide view "beyond Millard, beyond Nebraska,
beyond the United States."
Throughout the year, the support staff members stuck together to make the
~~cadernics school a place for learning, having fun , and feeling safe.
