Mustangs had no problem CtJ ntinuin~ tf,e Xe~ac~ in
athletic excellence. All teams strived for perfection while
achieving goals that some considered out of their reach .
There was no limit to what any team could do and many
ended up surprising themselves with personal bests.
'lifting weights and conditioning started the basketball
season, but eventually hours of practice were added on the
top" freshman Carley Sell said. "I had no idea that sports
in high school were so much more strenuous than those in
middle school. I hardly ever had a break!"
Along with a second ever state football title, individuals
contributed to the list of state champions. Senior Sylvia
Jarosz placed first in golf, and senior Matt Conahan raced
ahead of everyone at the cross country finals to claim the
title.
Athletes worked together late at night as well as early in
the morning to perfect their game. However, the long
hours of practice and games forced students to make
sacrifices elsewhere.
