                      "Before Metros we played

have a good time," McKnigh t

"At Metros during one tie-break against Westside, I dove to get the ball, and as a result, I bled all over
throughout the match," junior David Allen said. "It's cool though because we ended up winning Metros."
Whether it meant bleeding, fighting for the win, or both, the boys team had a record of 8-2 in duals.
The boys dueled against one another to improve match play, hit cross-court shots to improve consistency
and played stickball to have fun.
"The overhead game helped my doubles play because it improved my aim, consistency and
communication with my partner," junior Ben Young said.
Enduring practices paid off because the boys team placed fourth at Metros and eighth at state. Juniors
Olaf Zupancic and Allen took the state title for the number two doubles team. It was the first time that had
                     been accomplished since 1984.
The girls golf team had a successful season as well; they set a new record for dual scores of a 37 average
and a total score of 149.
"We were determined and motivated, and individually we all worked to hold up our end and encouraged
each other to do our best," senior Kalla Krieser said.
The girls golf team's hard work and dedication helped them place fourth at state, which was higher than
any previous MN team at a state tournament.
Although "we didn't always accomplish our specific goals, we always tried our hardest and sometimes
that resulted in us crying or laughing together," senior Katie Wooster said .
Both the boys tennis and girls golf teams built strong friendships. The boys liked going to senior Luke
Schmidt's house every Friday where they played "Ratchet and Clank" while the girls enjoyed "the pre-
invite dinners and van rides, which never ceased to bring up interesting topics," Krieser said .
