while maintaining a job.
"I don't get to do fun things usually because I hav to work on
the weekends, but I like having that big paycheck come, " junior Joe
Roberts sa id.
When summer roll ed around, students had more free time to
fill with leisure activities or summer jobs. Summer found students butting
working at Burger Kin g, lifeguarding at the loca l pool and bagging heads
groceri es.
Juni or Mariah Gatson instead chose to spend her summer nanny-
ing.
"I have more free time in the summer so I ca n nanny. I fed the
kids, watched movies, and played ga mes with them. I rea ll y had fun,
so it was like I was getting paid to have fun," Gatson sa id.
With both school year and summer jobs, it ca n be difficult to find ·· ~tr .. ,~..,,
a job that fits with sc hed ules, but so metimes the biggest obstacle was
age.
