With students testing new limits and pushing boundaries towards a new
                     definition of unique, the limits of expression were pushed outwards.


                                          Body piercing, tattoos, radical and brightly colored  hair: all  things that
                                       used  to be  co nsidered  a far  reac h from norm al, have  now become the new
                                       sta ndard  by whi ch students  define themse lves.  Lips, eyes , brows, and  noses:
                                       no body part see med  off limits and there were no boundari es  for the levels
                                       of ex press ion presented over the yea r.
                                          "I don't know why I got my hips pierced. It was  just so mething different
                                       that few of my friends had  done, and  I guess  I rea lly wanted to try it.  I think
                                       they're really unique and different," junior Trish Giles sa id.
                                          Pi ercings  became a huge  trend over the past  yea r,  but eve n more so  was
                                       the newfound fascination with hair coloring. Whether it was  bri ght and
                                       flashy or multi-tonal with a funky edge,  it always  showed some  personality.
                                          "I love co loring my hair. I don't do it extremely often because  it ca n be
                                       bad for you, but it's  almost like becoming a different person  with every new
                                       color.  It's  a fun so rt of release  when you do it," se ni or Tawny Craig sa id.
                                          Th ough outside appea rance  and  modification were so me of the most
                                       popul ar methods of creativity,  exp ress ion was n't only physical  and  aest hetic.
                                       It also  ca me from hobbies  and talents that occupied  students' free time.

                                          "When I'm alone I love to play piano. It just helps me relax  and  be  at
            really identi-             ease.  Sometimes I'll  just sit for hours at a keyboard  trying to hammer out

                                          Individuality became more apparent as  students  used  their pastimes,
