With advances made to connect both music and technology,
              students found ways to stay in  tune with the modern world.


                       iPh ones  and  touch sc ree n phones filled  pockets  and  hands
                     throughout the yea r.  Th e technologica l lea ps made  toward s the end
                     of the decade made hi gh-tech hi ghl y access ible.  Omaha's  growth
                     as  an urban city made a once  borin g loca le a hot-spot for upcoming
                     performers and musicia ns.
                       "I like how I've been  abl e to get out and  see  so me more  of th e
                     bands  I enj oy.  One of my favo rites,  Seawolf, was  just at the Slow-
                     down and it was  a fantastic conce rt!  I'm so  glad  they  finally ca me to   butting
                     Omaha," senior Taylor jackson sa id .                                             heads
                       Attracting new acts  hasn't been  the only thing for Omaha  to talk
                     about: the ever popular Apple Stor e showed an  increase  in  sa les
                     with the release  of th eir newest iPod, and  Microsoft release d a touch
                     sc ree n mp3 pl aye r in  hopes  of competing.
                       "I bought the Zune HD. It's  basica lly an iPod touch, but with
                     better touch se nsitivity and  it pl ays  hi gh definition TV,  ri ght on th e
                     scree n," freshman jennifer Kelly  sa id .
                       Music and  techn ology  found a unique fu sion with  the  adva nces
                     made in  portable technology . Touch sc ree ns and WiFi co mpatibility
                     gave  users the ability to make li stening easy  and enj oyab le.
                       "I've always  been a big fan of the iPh one. I mea n,  it's  just rea lly ac-
                     cess ible and  it does  so  much: Internet,  music,  games,  and  of course,
                     all  the ridicul ous applica ti ons you can bu y," junior Nhu Nguyen  said.
                       With the popular co mbinations of hi gh-tech, many options and
                     incredible so und, students  were abl e to stay  in  sync and  keep  movin g
                     forward.
