                                                     To create  Alphabet  City,  MN  worked  through  objections  and snow.

                                                     grades,  energy  drinks and relationships.  Rent: School Editi on tells the still

                                                       After its  ann ounce ment, it was  chall enged  by parents and students  alike
                                                     because  of content.  Despite the edited sc hool version, directors Mark
                                                     Hawkins and S cott Dugda le worked to further cut the scr ipt.
                                                       "I'm glad  Mr. Hawkins and our ad ministration fought for and gra nted
                                                     us the opportunity because  I have  grown not only as  a performer, but as  a
                                                     perso n," senior Tiffany  Taylor  sa id.
                                                       Rega rdless  of the changes,  nothing could get past their want to develop;-
                                                     characters and  bui ld sets.  Except the six snow days  MPS  experienced .
                                                     Th ose  six snow days  translated  into two weeks of missed  rehea rsa l time.
                                                       "W e had extra time built into our schedule, but that was  used up by six
                                                     ridicul ous  snow days  so  we had  to come in  on Saturdays  and Sundays  and
                                                     stay  late on so me weeknights," se nior Dan  Kelly  sa id.
                                                       While those on stage  are  eas il y remembered, it should also  be  noted that
                                                     the set,  as  se ni or David  Kalis  described it, "Was  fantastic."
                                                       A member of the construction and tec hnician crew, junior Shelbi  Kyler
                                                     was  a part of the students responsible for building a 16 foot tall wall com-
                                                     plete with a fire escape,  railings  and graffiti.
                                                       "We were able to do so mething creative  that didn't in volve  a saw  or a
                                                     drill," Kyler sa id.
                                                       With a principle cas t of mostl y se niors,  the crew and cast connected over
                                                     the th emes  sung and the life lesso ns prese nted.
