8 oth the Freshman and the Varsit)
wrestling teams came out on top thi!
year. The Varsity team ended thE
season with a 7-2 duel record and scored
high in all of their invitationals. While the
Freshman team didn't do quite as well i
their invitationals, they had a duel record ol
9-1.
According to coach Solberg the Fresh-
man team improved greatly throughout the
season. During the-season, the team came
from behind on four different occas ions and
became victorious. In the Freshman's most
outstanding meet, the players were able to
come from behind and win 35 to 32 over
Millard South.
When asked how the season went for
the Varsity wrestlers coach Cahill stated,
"Our team record speaks for itself." The
team ended with a high duel record and
placed first at three separate invitationals.
The high point of the Varsity season was the
first place ranking in the North High
invitational which hosted 22 different teams.
Not only did the team do well in this specific
invitational, but they also were able to take
first place at the district competition and
fourth place at state. "The team as a whole
improved and there were good players
spread throughout all the weights," stated
coach Cahill.
