handicapped swim program held in the MN swimming Students
pool.

round eighty student were involved
in various volunteer activities at
Millard North!
The intent of these programs according
to Denny Owens, a social studies teacher
involved in volunteer programs, is to get
students exposed to possible career interests
and serve the community.
Students involved in these programs
really enjoyed helping in volunteer activities.
Kasey Roach participated in the handicapped
swim program. She enjoyed working with the
kids and seeing them have a good time.
Other areas included working in hospi-
tals, elementary schools, outdoor education
and Friends Inc. These groups did various
projects such as Holiday parties and sales
such as Honey Sunday. Walt Mertz a member
of Friends Inc. felt it was great that the
students got involved with the community.
Going to four different children's hospitals
was a Friends Inc. holiday activity.
The benefits of these programs were
great for those being helped and those doing
the helping. It is a good feeling to help
another human being according to Senior
