     Building up

    the Program

M any people think that cross
country is a lot of hard work. "It
was but the results were worth it,"
remarked senior Kent Taylor. It proved
that it took a lot of work to take the teams
to districts and the boys' team to state.
The boys' overall record stood at five
and two with a third place finish at the
district meet. There they finished twelfth at
   state.
The girls' team finished their season at
   one  and  three. They placed fifth  at the                                                                          ;
district meet but failed to qualify for state.
There were fourteen letter winners this
year. All but six went to state. The leading
runner of the team was Frank Guffey. One
of the four seniors on the team.
Coach Mike Neemann hopes that they
can recruit team members in the ninth and
tenth grade to help build up the program.
