FBLA members often came to school early to learn
about new things. Their guest speaker tells them about
a new computer.

continuing class and club projects
were top priorities for the business
department.
Set up in the computer room, personal
computer class met first hour and covered
home and personal use. Department head
Dallas Schnabel said that they hoped to
have a lab with 24 computers for this class
next year.
Also new was a room full of electronic
typewriters in the 9-10 building.
Although new graduation requirements
have hurt freshmen enrollment in the
business classes, the 14 different classes
the department had to offer were still
popular electives among upperclassmen,
according to Schnabel.
DECA, <covered in supplement) the
marketing and merchandise and other
business classes applied their skills to work
at actual jobs in the business field, while
a trip to the Federal Reserve Bank gave the
personal finance classes a look at money
handling they even received bags of
shredded money.
FBLA, advised by teacher Janis Mullins,
took on various projects. They sold stuffed
animals and ornaments around Christmas
and carnations around Valentine 's Day.
They also went on a tour of Godfather's
pizza and were able to make their own
pizza . All helped fund their conventions Office procedures class teaches students how to
costs . operate an adding machine, as Junior Kim Rush shows.
