                                                                                           twas the best season ever," claimed
                                                                                           Swimming  Coach Bruce Carr when
                                                                                           asked about his  last season as head
                                                                                   swimming coach.
                                                                                       Carr had statistics to back himself up.
                                                                                   The girls' team finished with a 9-0  dual  meet
                                                                                   record and  the  boys'  with  a  8-1  record.
                                                                                   These records made them American Division
                                                                                   Champions of the Metro Conference.
                                                                                       At  the Metro Tournament, the boys fin-
                                                                                   ished third, while  the girls  took first place.
                                                                                   In  the State Tourney, the boys finished fifth
                                                                                   and the girls took third after the misfortune
                                                                                   of being  disqualified in  the 200 Medley Relay .
                                                                                       However, this shortcoming did not stop
                                                                                   individuals from becoming top finishers.  Se-
                                                                                   nior  Kevin  Kearns  was  champion of  the 50
                                                                                   Freestyle and Senior Jamie Morrow was  top
                                                                                   finisher  in  diving.   Kearns also placed third
                                                                                   in  the 100  Butterfly and Sophomore Jeff Miller
                                                                                   fin ished third in  the 100  Backstroke.   The
                                                                                   boys 400 Freestyle team finished third.
                                                                                       On the girls' side, Senior Tonia Quick took
                                                                                   third  in  diving.  Senior Jennifer Hays placed
                                                                                   fifth in  the 500 Freestyle and sixth in  the 200
                                                                                   Freestyle.  Freshman Kristen Kearns finished
                                                                                   fourth in  both the 50 Freestyle and 100  Free-
                                                                                   style.   Sophomore Stacy Friedlund finished
                                                                                   sixth  in  both the 200 Individual Medley and 100
                                                                                   Breaststroke.  Senior Kristi Larson took fifth
                                                                                   in  the 100  Butterfly,  while  Senior  Laura  Loll
                                                                                   placed fifth in  the 100  Backstroke.   Senior
                                                                                   Linda  Sorenson also  finished" sixth in  diving.
                                                                                   The 400 Freestyle Relay  Team placed fifth.
                                                                                       Throughout all  the  meets and  tourna-
                                                                                   ments, the boys broke 9 out of II  records. The
                                                                                   girls broke 7 out of II.
                                                                                       When asked about the team this year,
                                                                                   Carr claimed that, overall, the talent was "the
                                                                                   best."   tN
