W ith seven returning lettermen to '
the Varsity squad, high hopes and
anticipation led Seniors Aaron Bil-
yeu, Kevin Koch, Scott LeMay, and Tim Seaton
to lead the team to a 13-8 finish.
"Pitching was the strong part of the team
but that was to no avail due to the lack of run
support," said Aaron Bilyeu. "We had a lot of
good strong arms that could throw strikes
when we most needed them," said Coach Ron
Johnette.
With good pitching and good hitting from
leading hitters Koch and Seaton the team
came in second at Districts. "We had a great
amount of support from every player, but by
making a few key errors we lost those eight
- games," said Senior Joel Webb.
"A few errors pulled some tight games for
the JV team," said Sophomore Steve Caughlin.
Witb a 13-3 finish and all losses by only one run,
• the JV team pulled off a winning season.
"We pulled through some tight games, but
I was very impressed with the effort and
sportsmanship of the entire team." said Coach
Dave Buckley. "We had strong pitching, hit-
ting, and fielding and with that you can't lose."
With their only losses coming from lin-
coln Southeast, Bellevue East, and Omaha
Gross, the JV team held a nine game winning
streak until the last loss against Omaha Gross.
"We worked very hard and next year we'll go
undefeated," said Sophomore Steve Caughlin.
