Deceiving
Year Proves
Worthwhile

ur 3-12 record was deceiv-
ing. It did not reflect our performance since
four of our last five losses have come in the
final seconds," said Junior Ben Clemens
about the boys JV basketball season.
Junior Dusty Jones added, " When we
played like a team, we did great. For ex-
ample. three of our losses were in overtime.
and were very close. Usually we started ou1
strong, but then we began to lose control. "
Junior Keith Maly agreed, " If we had only
played more as a team we might have hac
only three losses ."
Although the team had some bad luck
~. there were some beneficial factors tha1
occurred. Two freshmen. Troy Everton one
Scott Heaney, gained valuable ex peri·
ence playing for JV instead of the fresh mar
team. Coach Ron Johnette said, " The var·
sity team would be looking forward tc
these two freshmen in the years to come.'
