Don't Go Back

                                                    What's past is what's
                           -chrissy niederhaus-
Throughout the year it be- past. This saying held
                    came increasingly apparent
that time was of the essence. true; there was no time
Another decade passed by for looking back.
                    and quickly pushed the world
                    into the nineties.
                      Anyone who looked around
                    was bound to notice the
                    changes. The River Front proj-
ect in the downtown area was
one of the more noticeable al-
                    terations.
                      In addition to the immense
                    westward growth of housing
                    and commercial activity,
                    Crossroads was remodeled
                    and Dillards was added.
                      State wide, Kay Orr was
                    elected the first woman gover-
                    nor of Nebraska, and former
govenor, Bob Kerry , was elect-
                    ed to the U.S. Senate.
                      Everything about Nebraska
                    and Omaha was looking to-
ward the future. There was no
                    time for looking back.
                      Internationally, the past dec-
                    ade held many changes that
                    helped prepare the world for
                    the nineties.

                    rocked Mexico City killed 7,000
