Once upon a time in a far off
kingdom .. . lived a young maiden, a
sad young lad, a childless baker with his
wife, a cow, a hen, two Princes , Snow
White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella,
Rapunzel. a big bad wolf. a hungry little
girl. a dim-witted boy, a wicked witch,
and a man in a suit . These were the
characters that formed the story of "Into
The Woods".
As each fairy tale character en-
tered the Woods in one form or another,
they intertwined to create the storyline
in a way that has never been imagined
before.
Senior Roni ConnelL who played
the part of Cinderella, said, "The fairy
tales portrayed to us were just not the
same as it was when I was a little girl.
There was more imagination. Who would
of thought that Cinderella would ever
leave her Prince?"
Not only did Cinderella's story
change, but other well-known fairy tales
were changed as well. Rapunzel, for
example, played by Seniors Mandy
Torrens and Heather Hendrickson, were
"locked in a tower for 14 years with no
company, then thrown into a desert
with little food, and again rJO company,
and then bore twins."
Through all the imagination, the
characters seemed to find a way to
discover their happiness whatever they
decided to do. Junior Becky Leach,
who played the Baker's Wife, said, "All
the characters in "Into The Woods" used
their imagination and creativity which
led them to live happily ever after."

about women and their need to fulfill their manly

attentively to the Mysterious Man (Senior Jack
Wei) after discoverin g that he is his long-lost father.
